There is a number of ways to password protect your Excel file – you can protect part of it or restrict what people can do with the data e.g. they can view it but not change it. And I will cover that in another blog post later…but here’s how you password protect your file completely

Choose:

  1. File – Save As
  2. To the left of the Save button (bottom right hand side of screen), notice that it says Tools
  3. Click on the triangle
  4. Choose General Options 
  5. Then enter your password to open and/or modify.
