Quite often I get people asking me how to do X or Y and this video addresses how Excel would be used to identify what is early, late and on time – assuming a 10 day buffer (either side).

I am using this to experiment with the IFS function ( a new function in Excel which is the alternative to the tangled web that a nested if could be – 64 sets of brackets any one? )

The issue was to do as follows – the user had a list of Receipt dates and Expected Receipt dates. The issue was to look at the gap between the two and identify if it was more than 10 days late (-10) i.e. “Late” 10 days or more (10) early i.e. “Early” or somewhere in the middle i.e. “On Time”

You can view the video here and here is the completed file.

Hope you find it useful 🙂
